TANZANIA INVITES AUSTRIA TO INCREASE INVESTMENT TOWARDS VISION 2050

The Deputy Minister in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment, Hon. Dr. Pius Chaya, has welcomed the deepening cooperation between Tanzania and Austria aimed at promoting trade and sustainable investment for the mutual benefit of both countries, in line with opportunities under the National Development Vision 2050.

Dr. Chaya made these remarks on March 23, 2026, in Dar es Salaam during a meeting with the vice minister for European and international affairs (political affairs) of Austria, Ambassador Dr. Hannah Liko, who is in the country for a three-day working visit.

During the talks, Dr. Chaya outlined the priorities of the National Development Vision 2050, which aims to transform Tanzania into a high-income, industrial-led economy valued at approximately USD 1 trillion. He noted that agriculture, tourism, industry, mining, and the blue economy are key drivers of economic transformation.
