Functions

This Unit will perform the following functions:

• Support simplification of procedures, integration, automation and digitalisation of business registration, licence, permit and issuance across regulatory bodies to offer service to private sector;
• Develop and Coordinate Implementation strategy for  simplification of process,   Procedure and licensing permit across regulatory bodies;
• Manage and monitor the implementation of investment and business environment regulatory reforms across sectors;
• Provide analytical support and recommendation to address key cross- sectoral challenges for improving Investment and business environment;
• Support the development of online inventory for existing license, permit, fees, levy and procedures to guide reform across sectors;
• Support coordination on cross-cutting matters pertaining to business digitization  and digitalisation to improve investment and business environment;
• Identify key (cross-sectoral) challenges that create barriers to investment and doing business in Tanzania and propose reform priority for realigning regulations and institution overlapping;
• Facilitate inter-ministerial, private sector and research agencies consultation to identify priorities for reform in line with agreed national agenda for improving the business environment and investment climate and advocate for changes;
• Improving business environment for start-ups ecosystem and emerging sectors;
• Collecting, documenting, reporting and disseminating information on business reforms undertaken by various institutions in improving the investment and business environment;
• Promote the adoption of risk-based inspection in regulatory authority and self-regulation to business community;
• Communicate key priorities and progress on reforms to stakeholders and other beneficiaries.
